Biographical
Information about the Artist
Maria
Pia Delledonne, born in 1969,gained an interest in painting as
a very young child, thus inheriting the passion and talent from two
cousins of her maternal grandfather, both professional artists. Her
passion in fact grew over the years and so when she was about 11 years
old her mother, counsel, also, from her school art teacher that had
noticed her talent, decided to have her take private lessons. Her
interest ranged from pencils,Indian links, charcoals, pastels that lead
into temperas, cloth painting, acrylics and oils which she had always
favoured.
At a certain point in her artistic studies, she
decided to
learn about watercolor which has now become her preference. While she
was learning the different forms of painting, she discovered to have a
particular talent for maintaining her own artistic individuality and
creativity, something not very easy to do considering most tend to
emulate their mentors and obtain their distinctiveness. It is an ability
to be proud of since it has made it possible for her to
connect
the art she has created to herself and not to some present-day artistic
correlation.
The artist really enioys playing with the white
of the
cotton-paper,(in watercolour,white,as a colour,does not exist.One needs
to know how to create it by using the white of the cotton-paper),and
painting the water with its magical reflections, furthermore she has a
true preference for landscapes, for nature in
general,flowers,butterflies.....( she is,also,an agricultural
expert, passionate about non -traditional medicines, playing chess and
taking photography).
The
artist passes easily from
hyperrealism/photorealism to impressionism, playing with the two styles
of art, creating delicate or bright colours,(yet never overwhelming),on
the wake of the Fauvista movement imitating sometimes oil painting,as
what occurred at the beginning of the XX Century,(see "Historical
Information About Watercolours"),or she plays transparency
games,(something she really prefers),even if she does not love
excessive
lightness which today many used with watercolours. The lightness of the
colours, transparency games that can be created during the making of the
painting, the velvety effects and the fascination of this technique's
difficulty are all irresistible stimuli to create, especially when
comparing them with the simplicity of the oil painting, tempera and
acrylics, which can be easily corrected and modified at anytime. Moreover
the artist does not use tonality of pure color, even if created in good
number from the firm to facilitate and to make quicker the job of the
artists, but she Matches the colors so to Create exclusively Personal
Tonalities giving an unique touch to her works of art.Every painting is
realized personally from the painter, peremptorily is excluded the
intervention of whichever external collaborator in the execution of the
painting. The intervention of collaborators in the various
stages
of the painting is today praxis much diffuse and it permit to realize
very greit quantity of paintings then signed from the artist. The
painter, instead, does not follow these rules of business, therefore the
painting,in every its part,(colors,tonality,lights and
shades, etc),personally is executed Only and Exclusively from the
painter.A type of execution that needs time but it guarantees
to
the buyer the possession of a work fo art to the hundreds for
hundreds,made from the artist.Moreover,the production
not in series adopted from the artist and therefore
the
creation of limited quantity of works annually, with the realization of
personal tonalities,is between the factors that allow a remarkable
increment of the value of the works of art in passing of the
years.
